Tom Cruise about the search for Horizons' female lead
Each time Tom Cruise signs on for any role, he appears to possess his select from the cream of youthful, female talent to experience opposite him.It had not been sometime ago that Rosamund Pike beat of competition from Hayley Atwell and Alexa Davalos to star over night, and it appears that your competition for brand new film Horizons (formerly Oblivion) is even firmer.Showblitz reviews that Jessica Chastain, Olivia Wilde, Noomi Rapace, Brit Marling and Olga Kurylenko are ready to check opposite Cruise within the coming days. Whether they'll be heading mind-to-mind remains to appear, as you will find two significant female parts within the script. The film happens inside a publish-apocalyptic future, by which humans have to reside in clouds above an unliveable Earth. Cruise will have a soldier positioned on the planet to be able to focus on a number of drones billed with determining and getting rid of a malevolent alien threat.Among the two female roles is going to be as Cruise's military # 2 and off-duty lover, although another would be the fiancée he was engaged to before Earth was penetrated by aliens. While we are totally shooting at nighttime here, we'd reckon that Wilde, Kurylenko and Rapace suit you perfectly for that former part, while Chastain and Marling appear better suitable for the second. The film is going to be directed by Tron: Legacy's Frederick Kosinski, and was modified in the graphic novel Oblivion. One Shot is Cruise's next project, so we'd expect production to start on that one early the coming year.

Caleb Landry Jones Joins Byzantium
Neil Jordan's new vampire picHe was last seen screaming up a storm (for heroic reasons, not because someone just poked him with a stick) as Banshee in X-Men: First Class, but now it looks like Caleb Landry Jones will have a real reason to scream, as he's locked in for a role in Neil Jordan's return to all things vampiric, Byzantium. Adapted by Moira Buffini from her own play, the film will see Gemma Arterton and Saoirse Ronan as a mother and daughter who just so happen to be vampires. They arrive in a small British seaside town, where Ronan joins the local school and stands up in class to announce that she's a member of the fang club. Naturally, her peers think she's joking, but soon learn the truth. She'll form a closer relationship with Jones' teenager, a lad dying of leukaemia and confronting his mortality, which in turn causes Ronan to ponder her immortality. Jordan is getting set to make the film later this year with Stephen Woolley and Elizabeth Karlsen producing via their Number 9 company after they picked up the rights to Buffini's work in 2009.

The Odd Life Of Timothy Green Trailer
He's a force of nature.... The Odd Life of Timothy Green posits a very different answer to the question of what a childless couple would do if they had tried everything to conceive without success. Instead of going down the adoption or fostering route (or, say, getting a dog), the film finds Jennifer Garner and Joel Edgerton writing all their wishes for their dream kid on pieces of paper and, er, burying them in a box in the backyard. Can you guess what happens next? Even if not, the trailer provides the answer below. We're pretty certain co-writer/director Peter Hedges and co-writer Ahmet Zappa were aiming for a uplifting, cockle-warming family fantasy confection, but this trailer, even with the charm-heavy presence of Edgerton and Garner, has moments that feel almost more like a horror movie. After all, how would you react if a lad, who had seemingly crawled out of the ground, arrived at your back door one night covered in mud and started calling you mum and dad? Chances are it would not end in a mug of cocoa and a round of hugs, but a swift summoning of the local constabulary...Still, we're sure as we see more footage, the heartstring-tugging moments will become clear. Disney hasn't set an official UK release date for this one just yet, though it's likely to arrive next year.

Founded upon the consolidation of countless production companies and theater chains, Nikkatsu Corporation has loved a wealthy good reputation for film production and distribution since 1912. Ever since then, notable company directors for example Kenji Mizoguchi, Kon Ichikawa, Shozo Makino and the boy Masahiro Makino, Ko Nakahira, Shohei Imamura and Seijun Suzuki make films underneath the Nikkatsu banner. Throughout World War Ii, Nikkatsu was intentionally coupled with other Japanese galleries to create a large, government-affected studio, however in 1954 the organization started again production under its control. Trying to find its niche within the flourishing postwar Japanese film industry, Nikkatsu moved in to the youth market using its stirring screen adaptation of Shintaro Ishihara’s SEASON From The SUN. A massive success, Nikkatsu rapidly accompanied having a wave of comparable works oriented for that youth market. Because the style of these youth films started to wane in early 60s, Nikkatsu released a number of hard-boiled action films that remain possibly the organization’s most widely known period worldwide. Brought by such action stars as Shishedo Joe, Yujiro Ishihara and Hideaki Nitani, Nikkatsu action introduced a brand new type of protagonist, frequently cynical and also at odds having a society revealed to become totally corrupt. Affected by American B movies, Nikkatsu action would itself be considered a key relation to the Hong Kong gunplay films years later. With aging action stars along with a public searching for new things, Nikkatsu within the 70s produced “Roman Porno,” romantic pornography, a number of soft-core erotic films that featured real (if frequently bizarre) plots and stars. The continual change in production enabled Nikkatsu to remain lucrative while other Japanese galleries were either closing or switching to television.
